Strata Titles Institute of Western Australia is an incorporated membership organisation governed by a Constitution and an elected Council.
OUR MISSION IS
“to be acknowledged as the foremost industry forum of professionals which establishes and mutually recognises members' competency, integrity and practise standards, and promotes public confidence in the strata titles profession within Western Australia".
Our members are actively involved in the strata titles profession. They
represent a wide range of industry sectors including strata company managers,
surveyors, financial and insurance service providers, conveyancers, solicitors,
real estate agents, property and strata title consultants.
All STIWA members are bound by a Code
of Ethics.
STIWA membership offers opportunities for continuing professional development
by the provision of regular workshops,
courses and seminars, as well
as an Accredited Strata Titles Manager qualification.
We work closely with the Department
of Consumer and Employee Protection (DOCEP) to ensure that the views of the industry are taken into account
in relation to Government legislation.
The Institute is currently particularly active in relation to the implementation
of the recommendations of The Stamford Report (“Review of Proposed
Licensing/Regulation of Strata Title Managers”), which was commissioned
by DOCEP to review the operation of the Strata Title industry.
